Thank you for your interest in a late model rental! Please review the following FAQ.
Who can rent a vehicle? Licensed and insured drivers age 25 and older can rent a vehicle. All other intended drivers must be listed on the agreement, and must also meet these restrictions. A major credit card is required to make payment at the time of the reservation. Renters are also required to provide a security deposit via credit card authorization. The deposit will not be charged to the card unless damage, loss, or theft occurs. See rental agreement for complete details.
What's Included in the Rental Rate? Rental rates include FREE delivery & pickup where applicable, and battery charger or fuel. Sales tax is not included. Coastal Carts provides no comprehensive or liability insurance for rentals - all renters are solely responsible for any damage, loss,theft, and liability while a vehicle is in their possession. What are the Rates? Rates are given for Mainland rentals, and Island rentals. See the charts below. Rates are subject to change without notice, but rate changes will not affect confirmed and paid reservations. Coupons may occassionally be available by e-mail to our repeat customers.
When Should I Make a Reservation and Make Payment? Coastal Carts recommends that you reserve, confirm and make payment on rentals several months in advance of peak season, as we regularly sell out during these times: winter/spring for electric rentals, summer/fall for gas rentals on the Islands. Rental payment and deposit authorization are due at time of reservation by credit card. Ongoing rentals to consumers require agreement of a recurring credit card authorization.
What is the Rental Duration? The rate for your rental duration is similar to that of automobile rentals. For example, the best rate for a 3-week rental will default to the monthly rate (this is a lower rate than a bi-weekly rate plus one weekly rate.) For long term consumer or commercial rentals, please contact us for rates.
How Do I Get the Vehicle to My Location? When Will the Vehicle Arrive? Rentals are delivered and picked up Monday thru Friday - contact us for the schedule in your area. The delivery truck does not make stops on Saturdays or Sundays except by appointment. Once confirmed, you will be contacted to confirm the time of the delivery.
How Do I Request Service of My Rental? If your rental vehicle requires service, please contact us during regular business hours. 2012 Island Rates (includes FREE delivery) Captiva Island rentals begin on Friday afternoons and conclude on Friday mornings. For other islands, call for our schedule. All gas-powered rental neighborhood vehicles are equipped with headlight(s), tail lights, mirror, side reflectors, sun-top, fold-down clear windshield, and rear-facing seat. Several gallons of fuel will be provided on gas rentals. Additional fuel is the customer's responsibility.
2012 Mainland Rates (includes FREE delivery) For rentals to Lee and Collier County destinations (except the Islands), use the Mainland Rate. Rentals are available for destinations to other Counties, but a delivery surcharge may be imposed. Contact us for details.
